Our Centres

We have two centres – Bournemouth and Weymouth, to be joined by a third centre, Wroughton in Wiltshire, in 2018.

Joint headline sponsor for the Bournemouth and Weymouth centres:  Wessex Water

SafeWise, Bournemouth (formerly known as Streetwise) is an award-winning safety education centre which opened in 1998. Our main feature is our stunning indoor village in which we conduct interactive safety education tours, teaching children and members of the community how to identify and mitigate potential dangers.   As well as our village, we also have two meeting rooms and an IT Suite, all of which are available for hire.

SafeWise Bournemouth

SafeWise Weymouth

SafeWise, Weymouth has been developed to complement SafeWise Bournemouth and was officially opened in July 2011 by Olympic gold medallist Sarah Ayton.  From opening, the centre has specialised in providing the FireWise and HealthWise initiatives.  In March 2016 the RoadWise outdoor driving, cycling and pedestrian training facility was opened by HRH The Princess Royal.

And Coming Soon … SafeWise, Wroughton (near Swindon). Purpose built at Wroughton Airfield and due to open in 2018 this centre will take SafeWise to an exciting new level on a bigger scale.

Since its inception in 1998, SafeWise has been a true multi-agency partnership involving the local authorities, emergency services, local businesses and other voluntary organisations.

Support from the local business community (both financial and in-kind) is essential in enabling SafeWise to flourish. We are particularly grateful to our sponsors for the enormous support they give us and for helping us to ensure that as many people as possible are able to benefit from a visit to the centre.

Volunteering is at the heart of our charity. Volunteers contribute, in all manners of ways, to the centres’ smooth running, not least by leading safety tours and covering the Weymouth centre’s reception.

We always love to hear from potential visitors, supporters and volunteers. The offices are usually staffed between 9.00am and 4.00pm Monday – Friday so why not give us a call or send us an email via our Contact Us page.
