Following a Safewise business strategy review, IAM RoadSmart will be taking over the successful Dorset Driver Gold (DDG) scheme from SafeWise on April 1st, 2018. It is expected that most DDG Instructors will transfer to the new scheme.
Rob Hattersley, SafeWise CEO said: “Dorset Driver Gold is a great scheme, and a much needed support option for older drivers. We are therefore delighted to be handing it over to the experts in this field at IAM RoadSmart. This means the programme can continue to grow and develop. Importantly, it also allows SafeWise to refocus on exciting plans to grow our own scenario-based education programmes and visitor numbers. The partnership is a definite win-win’.
The Mature Driver Review will cost £49. There is no separate theory session as all support is delivered on a 1:1 basis. Full details can be found on the IAM website here.
For mature drivers already registered with Dorset Driver Gold SafeWise, further DDG theory sessions are available up to 31st March when the scheme switches. They are:-
- Thursday 7th December – 1330 at SafeWise Bournemouth
- Monday 15 January 2018 – 1330 at Safewise Weymouth
- Tuesday 13 February 2018 – 1000 am at Safewise Bournemouth
SafeWise will also continue to arrange 1:1 DDG lessons up to March 31st. From April 1st, all sessions will be managed by IAM.
